Your Visit

Prepare for you visit

Typical length

Allow up to 2 hours for your clinic visit. This will include a clinical examination with your physician, clinical testing, and any necessary treatment(s).

During your visit

Your pupils will be dilated to allow for a thorough examination of your retina and back of the eye. This takes about 40 minutes. Please have someone accompany you to your appointment as you will not be able to drive afterwards. Alternatively, please arrange for a taxi or ride sharing service.

What to bring

Please bring sunglasses (as your eyes may be sensitive to light after your procedure) and a list of any medications you are taking.

During your visit

Imaging

Your retinal specialist will use advanced imaging techniques to take detailed pictures of the back of your eye. They will use these images to assess your eye health, and diagnose your retinal condition.

Treatment plan

Your retinal specialist will discuss your recommended treatment plan with you, which may include medical and/or surgical care. These procedures are performed either at our clinic or in hospital.

Consultation and follow-up

We will ensure to consult with your referring physician to discuss your care plan and requirements for follow-up and monitoring.

Treatments and Procedures

We perform a wide range of retinal treatments and procedures in the comfort of our clinic, and through affiliated hospitals when surgery is required.

These include:

Eye injections

Medications are injected into the eye to treat AMD, diabetic eye disease and other conditions.

Laser treatment

A laser is used to repair retinal tears and treat retinal conditions.

Vitrectomy surgery

A procedure to remove vitreous gel (the clear gel-like substance behind your retina) to treat conditions that affect the retina and surrounding areas.

Pneumatic retinopexy

A simple procedure using a gas bubble to repair certain retinal detachments.

Cryotherapy

Freezing is used to repair certain retinal tears and help prevent detachment.
